Time-Honored Knowledge from Asia-Pacific Nations

Learn from the living past by connecting to nature today through the teachings of the Philippines' indigenous nature people and their practices. This workshop transcends conventional approaches by seamlessly blending the profound principles of depth psychology with the timeless wisdom of Asian Pacific cultures. This comprehensive approach fosters a holistic understanding of the intricate interplay between inner psychological landscapes and the environment. It draws from diverse cultural perspectives, incorporating their unique relationships with and approaches to working with the natural world to deepen your experience.

Enriched by centuries-old practices deeply rooted in Asia-Pacific traditions, this workshop offers a unique synthesis of healing and self-discovery through immersive, hands-on experiences.

This marks the first of three workshops on the cultural exploration of nature-based practices and the human-nature relationship. Completing all three workshops successfully will earn you a certificate.

Taught by subject matter expert: Gayle Certeza, a distinguished PhD (candidate) from the Philippines.

Learn to experience the world . . . differently!

Join us for this 6-week certification course in ecological consciousness where we learn to experience ourselves as less and less separate from the web of life—restoring well-being not only for ourselves, but also for our planet.

Each week’s lesson is designed to bring the human soul into a deeper, more conscious relationship with nature. We explore the threads that connect our natural world with our human psyche, and, in turn, we actualize a world where we all belong.

Join us, and discover your love for learning about nature as you freely walk, explore, and reconnect with all of life.

Deep Listening & Deep Observation In Nature

2-Hour Program

Enrich Your Curiosity

We are not typically taught, or don’t normally pay attention to, how we listen or see. However, when we do pay attention, nature and our conversations with an-other become remarkably richer. Deep listening and deep attention are heart-to-heart interactions that ignite curiosity and awareness. They allow us to see through the eyes of an-other. We shift our awareness to letting go of what we know and surrender to just perceiving for no other purpose than to understand an-other. We listen and observe in order to give an-other a voice, a chance to be seen, to be heard, to feel that someone finally understands their struggle. With humor and deep insights, participants will have a chance to take part in and experience new and fun practices that will help them to sharpen their perception and become aware of previously unnoticed things in Nature and in an-other.

Awe & Wonder

2-Hour Program

How does beauty transform us?

Nature is a powerful source of inspiration and transformation. This workshop is a transformative journey into the power of nature’s beauty. Our natural world inspirits our hearts and minds with awe and wonder. By discovering the poetic potential of our surroundings, we are lured even further into our curiosity, and invited to reflect on life’s bigger questions. This workshop will awaken a love of life within each participant and provide them with a deeper understanding of how beauty can inspire us to live more fully. Participants will leave having a renewed sense of awe, wonder, and a deeper connection to the world around them.

Recovering The Wild Sacred

2-Hour Program

Create the changes that our world needs

Animals are often vilified, demonized, and extirpated because historic and narrative fallacies integrate into societal and cultural memories. This happening can be seen as the evolution of a process that takes place across generations. This presentation examines myths that have unconsciously become part of our beliefs as a lens for cultural, psychological, and ecological events. The historical extirpation of wolves in Yellowstone National Park is examined, together with the 2,500-year-old myth of Gilgamesh, in which the protagonist undertakes a journey into the Cedar Forest to exterminate the creature Humbaba.

Heart Consciousness

2-Hour Program

The Heart’s Intelligence

Imagine . . . if you encountered your life experiences in such a way that the first thing you saw was beauty. Beauty before judgment; beauty before opinion; beauty before criticism; beauty before expectations; beauty before reacting . . . How would that change your life experience? How would that change your enjoyment of life and the ability to appreciate its many gifts?

In this workshop, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the transformative power of adding heart-centered practices to their interactions with nature, to the way they navigate the world, and their role in creating a world in which we all belong.

Forest Bathing

2-Hour Program

Deepen your relationship with nature

Forest bathing is not just for nature lovers. It is a scientifically-proven practice to support health and wellbeing through simply sitting or walking in a natural environment and consciously becoming aware of your surroundings through your senses. The sounds of the forest, the scent of the flowers, the wind playing through the leaves, the feel of water in a stream – these experiences act as a balm for our busy lives. The key is not to hike a long distance or climb a mountain, but to leave behind the stress of our daily lives as we help to inspire your curiosity, awareness, and resensitize your senses to the natural world around you, all the while receiving nature’s many health benefits.

When we rewild our senses and step back into experiencing life with new knowledge, we awaken to the fullness of human experience and we shift toward embracing all life and the whole of nature in its beauty. It marks the distinction between just living, versus a ‘love’ of life. Learn to experience the world, differently.

Can You Say Zizza-Zeez?

Can you sing Ga-Ruck Ga-Ruck with the little green frogs?

Join us on an adventure into the forest where you and your child will discover nature’s magical voices as they invite you to sing along. Can You Say Zizza-Zeez inspires children to listen deeply to nature. Deep listening ignites curiosity, and this curiosity is the threshold to new worlds, captivating discoveries, and an appreciation for our natural world.

Art in Nature

2-Hour Program

In art we discover new perspectives

We invite both children and adults to join us in this workshop, where participants will explore the beauty, wonder, and creativity of the natural world by using materials found in nature to create unique and expressive pieces of art. The workshop will begin with a short walk in nature, during which participants will collect materials such as fallen leaves, twigs, branches, acorns, or the water, soil, grasses, and small stones that lay on the ground that they will use to create a piece of art. Or, participants can choose to let nature inspire them to create a photograph, write a poem or piece of music.

By the end of the workshop, participants will have created a unique and personalized piece of art that reflects their connection to the natural world. They will leave with a greater appreciation for the profound beauty of nature, the impact that nature has on their creativity and life itself, and the power of artistic expression to inspire an ecological conscience.

Rethinking Wellness

1-Hour Program

THE POSITIVE EFFECTS OF NATURE

Have you ever wondered why you feel more energized while spending time outdoors? Why sitting in the sand by the ocean, hiking through the woods, having a picnic in a park, or swimming in a lake leave you feeling both invigorated and at peace? Mounting scientific evidence is now showing how experiencing nature can facilitate improvements in our overall health and life: our immune system is boosted; oxygen uptake is higher; lung and heart functions are improved; our body produces increased endorphins; and cellular repair mechanisms are more efficient. Building off this evolving scientific literature, physicians are writing prescriptions for their patients to spend time outdoors in green spaces. iRewild’s collaborative expert, Dr. Peter Angood delivers a life changing presentation where participants learn about the science of how nature exposure is beneficial to their wellness and life overall.

Existential Conversations

1-Hour program

Do you long for conversations touching upon the existential?

In the tradition of the great European salon our iRewild thought leaders lead live or online conversations exploring existential questions that are integral to nurturing a deeper, more conscious relationship with nature in today’s world.

Why existential questions? Existential questions are deep, philosophical questions that concern the very existence of all life on earth. Our conversations are empowering. These gatherings invite you to exchange perspectives, to shape ideas and thoughts together, enriching your inner life and contributing to your work in the world.

Ecological Consciousness

Join us for this certification course in ecological consciousness. The curriculum consists of 15-weeks during which participants meet and explore the central themes and ideas for tending the soul of the world and cultivating reverence for nature’s intelligence and interconnectedness. We journey through the human inner landscape to understand our own lenses that structure our experiences of the world, and, in the process, we become eco-citizens. This course is designed to be transformative, as it enables us to live in an authentic, creative, meaningful way in a world where we all belong.

Participants work together, with space for participatory exercises, experiential practices, and creative expression, to develop break-through ideas for a final project that participants will take into the community.
