Can You Say Zizza-Zeez?

This beautifully illustrated book inspires children to listen deeply to nature. Deep listening ignites curiosity, and this curiosity is the threshold to new worlds, captivating discoveries, and an appreciation for our natural world.

Rewilding The Senses

Bringing the human soul into a conscious relationship with Nature

Each and every element of Nature has its responsibilities and together creates the unified whole, in which humanity is just one part, neither more nor less than the rest.

iRewild Art As EcoAdvocacy

Artistic expression has the power to raise consciousness and contribute to social change. Art moves the heart, mind, and soul. It creates an opportunity to traverse fixed biases and moral ideals to where curiosity is ignited, hearts can be touched, and minds open to new possibilities. In art we discover new perspectives and new ways to envision our world. It is a dynamic practice that has the potential to generate impact and inspire an ecological conscience.

Join us

We invite both children and adults to join us in this workshop, where participants will explore the beauty, wonder, and creativity of the natural world by using materials found in nature to create unique and expressive pieces of art.

The workshop will begin with a short walk in nature, during which participants will collect materials such as fallen leaves, twigs, branches, acorns, or the water, soil, grasses, and small stones that lay on the ground that they will use to create a piece of art. Or, participants can choose to let nature inspire them to create a photograph, write a poem or piece of music.

Once the material is collected, participants will be given time to experiment and play with their newfound art supplies, combining them with other art materials such as paint if desired. The focus will be on letting one’s creativity flow and allowing the natural materials to guide their artistic vision.

Throughout the workshop, participants will be encouraged to reflect on their relationship with nature and the impact that nature has on their creativity and life itself. They will also have the opportunity to share their work and engage in a discussion about the importance of connecting with nature through art.

By the end of the workshop, participants will have created a unique and personalized piece of art that reflects their connection to the natural world. They will leave with a greater appreciation for the profound beauty of nature and the power of artistic expression to inspire an ecological conscience.

Afterward, let us continue to cultivate our relationship with the earth by returning its gifts to where we found them, unchanged and undamaged, preserving our creations only in a photograph, and in our hearts and souls.

Sharing your creation

●     Take a photo of the space before you start, when you finish, and after you have returned everything to its original starting place.

●     Upload your three photos to the event site and let us know a little about what you did, how you did it, and how you felt about your creation and the process.

Our hope for this event

We wish to see how this endeavor may help participants relate in a healthier way to the space in which the creation was made, and to the wider natural world, through the process of touch, and smell, and seeing what can be created out of simple natural materials without making significant alterations in the process.  We want the experience to remain within oneself, not in a permanent thing left behind.  The photos are for others to learn from how you made your creation and contribute to their understanding of their own relationship with the natural world.  We may have done this type of activity when we were young, and maybe we have forgotten what we learned.  Let’s do it again and rekindle and reawaken what may be inside us.  And if we have not done it, let’s do something new together and feel and share how this simple activity may help us bring our hearts and souls closer to what we may need more than ever.
